1.Nic card -:it is pre install in our computer/system , we are connected to the internet with the help of NIC card it's full form is (Network interface card ) they are provide unique id on internet also called as mac address (Media access control).
Ex-: 10:c4:d4:3a:6f:5e
note(first three latter manufacture id and last three latter unique id )


 





2. Router-: Router is a network device which work as a traffic controller , a main work of router is to chose a free traffic path through which the data packet will travel router receive data packet to the sender analyse and forward the data packet than giving to receiver








           Advantage of Router
               
    1. he provide connection between two different network. 
    2. Transmission rate is very high.
    3.he provide both wire or wireless facility
    


     Dis-advantage of router

    1. router is more expensive compare to other network device.
    2.he only work with routable protocol.
    3. router are complex to maintain.


3.Hub-: Hub is multiple port repeater  we can connect different type of devices, hub is broadcast the data ,hub generally used to connect computer in a LAN. Transmit  mode of half duplex. hub is less expensive and less intelligence less complicated. Hub doesn't provide any security.
 







4.Switch-: Switch is network device that connects multiple computers together in the network. it is mainly used to send the private massage as well as their is no wasting data .switch can easily identify that which device is connected with which port by using mac address that why it delivered massage on particular destination machine. Switch is more intelligent then hub.
this is store source machine and destination machine mac address and delivered the data with the help of mac address.








            Advantage of switch 

    1.it generally used unicast massage.
    2.it is provide more security than hub.
    3.switch support full duplex data transmit.
    4.it is used to send data packet based on mac address.
    5.if a node(computer) fails  there will be not effect in the entire network.


        Dis-advantage

    1.if switch failed then entire network will be failed.
    2. it is more expensive.
    3.diffecult to setup.



5. Repeater-: it is use to making weak signal to strong signal. When the signal travels in the network after traveling some distance the intensity of the signal becomes low, in order to regenerate the weak signal to high signal we should use repeater device. It is use to wired and wireless.






        Advantage of repeater

    1.It is use to regenerate the weak signal.
    2.it cheaper than other network device.
    3.Repeater has ability to extend the length of signal.
    4.incriase/maintain the signal performance.
        
        Dis-advantage

    1. repeater not connected different type of signal.
